Rattlesnakes and dogs don't mix.  Thousands of dogs are bitten by rattlesnakes each year.  Most, but not all, dogs recover, but with a great deal of pain, suffering and expense.

Dogs can be trained to stay away from rattlesnakes.  A combination of live caged rattlesnakes and an electronic shock collar quickly teach dogs the threat of the reptile but causes no harm to the dog.
